A Handsome GIII Oak Breakfront Bookcase from the Lowther Castle Estate. This well proportioned estate cabinet has flush mounted base panels in lovely quarter sawn English oak and fine square section glazing bars enclosing spun glass panels to the upper section with 'dentil' cornice atop. In true estate made style - even the back panels are of solid oak and whilst the cabinet work is pleasantly provincial, the proportions are true GIII Architectural. Retaining it's original colour with some minor amount of restoration, this is an increasingly rare and useful cabinet. Max' depth of central upper section; 39.5cm.
