A 1940s French Modernist Commode in Empire style. This stylish mahogany 2 door commode on tapering columns has quality brass mounts and sabots, as well as a nicely figured fossil shell marble top. Of superb quality construction, this commode resembles the work of many top French Modernist Designers of the 1930s/40s period, often basing their designs on earlier Neo Classical furniture. Overall depth to projected columns; 69cm.
