An C18th Catalan Bench

A Gloriously Worn and Characterful C18th Catalan Bench in Poplar wood. Even the ancient repairs are worn on this bench! The gnarly and patina rich surface bear testimony to the 'Life' this bench has lived and contributed to it's immense character. The wonderful old repairs are a prized Joy, themselves also now rich with colour and patina. Constructed in the traditional vernacular way, this bench has dry (non-glued) pegged tenon joints which have a degree of movement commensurate with time aged shrinkage and wear but is still perfectly usable. Seat dimensions: 40cm high x 42 deep.
