An Exceptional Antique Chateau Kitchen prep Table, cut from the trunk of an Elm Tree circa C18th/ early C19th. The scale and primitive nature of this table is stunning with 4 shaped and crudely tapered legs. Original knife 'sleeve' cut into the top and retaining fabulous colour and patina. This type of monoxylic vernacular furniture is the inspirational forerunner to the well known works of furniture/Designers such as José Zanine Caldas etc, utilising the intrinsic nature of wood to create furniture in raw state.
