A Rare Mouseman Oak Bar/Credenza
Width: 229.5cm (90.4")
Height: 90cm (35.4")
Depth: 40cm (15.7")
A rare Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson Oak Bar, mounted with waney edged and adzed boards and thick adzed top with Mouse 'signature'. 'Mousey' Thompson (1876 - 1955) founded the 'Yorkshire Oak' Furniture movement and became famous with his distinctive carved 'Mouse' signature. This particular piece will have been a special commission, possibly for one of the Yorkshire pubs which often use Thompson furniture due to it's robust nature. The use of wavy edge boards and broad adzed finish give this piece a particularly interesting appearance and we believe it also works well as a wall mounted Console/Credenza. Circa 1950.
