A 1950s French Walnut Credenza

An Exceptional 1950s French Walnut Credenza, attributed to Jacques Adnet. Stunning Design is often based around a simple combination of proportion alongside a strong design thread. Jacques Adnet has often used this concept to acknowledged success and his use of an elongated 'Pyramid' moulding has been extremely popular and very recognisable. This extremely good quality Credenza displays the deep Pyramid moulding to great effect, which is accentuated by just the right amount of proportion and simplicity surrounding them and clearly has the signature of a very accomplished Design Eye. The use of best quality Walnut is synonymous with another Adnet Credenza in our previous inventory (see additional photos), as is the use of the elongated Pyramid Moulding. This suggests a slight modification and progression of this particular Design Thread by Adnet who had an ideal platform to promote his designs after becoming Director of La Compagnie des arts Français between 1928-1960 and then Director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris until 1970. This particular Credenza was constructed in the 1950s and appears to be a rare example.
